Armed Prophet

"Good!"

submission: Armed Prophet
date: November 19, 2009

Love the concept, love the action, can't complain about the music either. Haven't beaten a level on "real man" yet but it's no longer my first time...
Anyway, here's a tip for people who are having trouble: use the jump! Jumping seriously makes stuff easier. Try jumping while holding "up" or "down" around ranged units. They'll start to attack when you jump passed them and if you're timing's good, you can get them to hit another enemy with their attack. Using that strategy, you can make quick work of larger groups of enemies and (best part) making enemies attack each other charges your special. You can also attack while jumping, allowing you to hit enemies without being hit. If you jump towards an enemy, you can get in the first hit. If you jump up or down, you can hit enemies as you fly by. Using upwards or downwards (towards the bottom of the screen or away from it, don't just jump straight up that's useless) makes melee enemies cry and is GREAT agains the Zomboss. It doesn't work as well against ZOMG! or smileborg... But, really, against the bosses you just need to learn their patterns. Each boss has a "tell" which indicates what attack they're about to use. YOU CANNOT FIGHT THEM HEAD ON but you can watch their patterns and get in quick hits while they're busy missing you with an attack. It's easy to get behind ZOMG! while he's attacking, for example. Just watch out for the whirlwind.

"Good overall"

Not bad, enjoyed it, had fun killing LOTS of bats and spiders, etc. But had a huge problem with dynamite. I wasted probably 6 sticks trying to get at this one chest.... and never got it. I'd still be there, right now, if I had any dynamite left... There's a gem involved.

Rage Of The Dragon II

"It's a good starting place"

date: October 21, 2009

Overall, not bad. However, there is some room for improvement. Before I get to that, however, I'd like to say THANK YOU for posting a game the kind of which I either overlooked or have been waiting years to see. What's not to love about dragons burning villages and castles to the ground?!

That having been said, I'd love to see some more... well, MORE. Smoother animation and controls (seems to take five minutes to turn around), more challenging levels that involve more than flying left and right, holding the fire button down (most levels seem to be over in 1-2 passes), giving the dragons more depth (character-wise) and more abilities (like being able to EAT PEOPLE), and the occasional "hero" to battle the dragon. A knight in shining armor, if you will.
Oh, and can we please stop with the houses getting in the way of the attacks? Half the damage I've taken is because I'm hitting the houses instead of the enemies I'm aiming at.
....
Uh, in case any of that happens in the later levels, I haven't finished playing the game yet. I'm on level 7 or 8 or something like that. I've made it across the sea and burned down a castle. Somewhere around there.

ANYway, good job but please don't stop with this version. Keep making with the fiery destruction, we beg you kind sir: MORE!

"Good but"

submission: Spectromancer

It's fun to play but I refuse to pay. Great job and it's fun and all but it's kind of insulting to me/us that you'd post a game here and then expect us to go to another site AND pay you money for the rest of this game. It's good, but it's far from that good.

Some of the cards are really unbalanced (cough, Astral Guard) and the inability to make a deck is a major flaw. I agree with the argument regarding the "best deck" problem but still, people like creating. People like making decks and calling them their own. That's part of the fun of a TCG.

Honestly, the biggest problem I have is the part where you're trying to charge us. This game would have been an 8 or 9 in my book but... not happening. Call me when you get over yourself and post the whole thing on this site.

Madness Accelerant

"Simply amazing"

submission: Madness Accelerant

Everything about this game rocks! The music is awesome, the animation is great, the art is beautiful. The clown has never looked more 1337 than in the second area, where he's on the stairs and he looks HUGE and terrifying. The mouse controls probably work best but there is a little room for abuse because you can click fast to jump kick VERY rapidly. I can kick the clown like 8 times in one jump just by hopping up next to his skull/head and clicking fast. Not a huge thing but you'd be surprised how fast those free kicks add up... well maybe not in the elevator but in the rest of the game...

"Not bad"

Overall, pretty good. nice graphics, smooth controls, each enemy type felt reasonably unique, and of course the concept itself was very easy to understand. My suggestions:
First off, once the player gets all 3 specials, the game becomes very, very easy. There is almost literally nothing the enemies can do. All the player has to do is keep one special going all the time and (s)he's basically unstoppable. Maybe make the specials more expensive or increase the charge time on them?
Second, a repair "upgrade" is pretty much essential, otherwise there's nothing to spend money on late game and it prevents early game mistakes from becoming game-breakers.
Third: I'd recommend throwing in a few more durable enemies, something that appears less often than the other enemies but can survive at least a few seconds of exposure to a special, just to keep things more challenging. Maybe like a mini-boss? Just a thought. I'm addicted to boss battles.

Bang! The Game

"Fun but could be improved"

submission: Bang! The Game
date: September 17, 2009

Overall, the game's pretty fun. Simple idea, good music, and I'm pretty much obligated to like anything that involves blowing up planets. However... I just feel like there could be more to it. Different kinds of meteors/asteroids, other kinds of planetary defenses (missiles, moons, planetary shields, etc.) maybe the player could devastate cities as well as kill random dudes wandering around? It's fun but there's not a lot of replay value to it, you know? Once you've played it, you've played it.

Cave of Wonders

"Great game can't run away yet but..."

submission: Cave of Wonders
date: September 10, 2009

First form: double jump into him as soon as the flames die. Try to steer yourself up to the back of his head. If you can bounce high enough you'll be clear of his charge. Then just get in front of him and wait for the flames to die again.
2nd form: run up and whack away with the sword and wait for him to glow green. You can't hurt him while he's in spinning-ball form so just dodge and try to avoid the exploding lollipops. Get back to attacking as fast as possible and really mash the attack button, you should be able to beat him in 3-4 passes if you're fast.
3rd form: avoid the missile at all costs. Try to keep moving back and forth between two points on the screen (doesn't matter which ones but make them kind of close). The boss keeps trying to drop bricks on your head. Climb up the bricks to double jump into the ship and force it down. The more you can bounce off it, the more damage you do.
Running away: can't yet but...
Final thoughts: sequel? Please?

Dude, the first time the dogs charged at me, it FREAKED ME OUT! Those things are FAST! Nice job. BTW, how many levels are there? Just want to know if it's endless or if there's a last level... I haven't gotten that far... yet.
